Charles County Sheriff's Office Announces Armed Robbery Arrest

Detectives with the Charles County Sheriff's Office have charged Ruben Terod Williams, 20, of Accokeek in connection with the November 2004 armed robbery of a citizen in Waldorf.

Williams allegedly approached a 51-year-old Waldorf man Nov. 13, 2004, at 10:03 p.m. in the 6000 block of New Forest Court in Waldorf, brandished a handgun and demanded money. When the victim did not comply, Williams allegedly fired a shot and fled the scene. The victim was not injured.

Detectives recovered a shell casing from the scene and on March 23, the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division examined the shell casing and compared it to test cartridge casings fired from a handgun recovered Dec. 23 after Williams was arrested for possession of the gun during a separate incident. They determined the recovered shell casing had been fired from the recovered handgun.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Williams' arrest May 21 and the warrant was served May 23 at the Charles County Detention Center, where Williams is also being held on charges for an unrelated citizen armed robbery. He is being held without bond. Det. C. Shankster investigated.
