Juvenile Delinquents Go on Theft Rampage in 7th District

On July 12, 2005 at approximately 1030 pm, officers were conducting patrol checks in the 7th District area when they discovered several items discarded in the 7th District Park. While on the scene, a vehicle entered the Park, observed DFC Emory Johnson and quickly turned around to exit the Park. Upon stopping the vehicle, DFC Johnson discovered more stolen items in the vehicle and the occupants were conducting a scavenger hunt throughout the area.

Two adults, (ages 18) and 4 juveniles, (ages 16-17) were arrested. DFC Johnson placed a lookout for a second vehicle involved in the thefts. Several units searched the surrounding community without results. The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office would like to thank Maryland State Trooper Laney for locating the remaining 4 suspects, to include 1 adult (age 18), and 3 juveniles(ages 16-17) at a residence in Mechanicsville, who were also arrested.

At this time we have not identified all of the victims from this incident. If you have any information, please contact DFC Emory Johnson at 301-475-8008.
