Sheriff's Dept. Seeks Information on Waldorf Bank Robbery


The Charles County Sheriff's Office and Charles County Crime Solvers are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the man who robbed a bank in Waldorf Aug. 23.

The man entered Chevy Chase Bank at 1130 Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf about 10:30 a.m. He approached the teller and passed her a note demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. He did not display a weapon. The suspect is described as a black man wearing black clothing and a black bucket-style hat. He is between 6 feet and 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs between 170 and 180 pounds and has a thin build.

Detectives have obtained photographs of the suspect from surveillance equipment at the bank. The photos can be viewed on the Sheriff's Office's website at www.ccso.us.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 301-609-6496 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Crime Solvers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information about a crime that leads to an arrest or indictment.
