Two SUVs Collide in Waldorf


On Sept. 1 at 9:36 a.m., a Toyota SUV driven by Carole Ligon Oduyoye, 42, of White Plains, attempted to make a left turn onto Copley Avenue from Smallwood Drive in Waldorf but crossed the path of a northbound Mitsubishi SUV driven by Christopher John Colmain, 20, of Cheltenham. The vehicles collided in the intersection and the Toyota overturned and struck a Ford pickup truck driven by Frank Howard Hardesty, Sr., 80, of Waldorf.

Oduyoye sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was flown by a United States Park Police helicopter to Prince George's General Hospital. Her passengers - a two-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl - and the drivers of the other vehicles were not injured. All the drivers were wearing their seatbelts and the children were in appropriate safety seats. Officer A. Celia investigated the crash.
