Man Brandishes Gun at Lexington Park Days Inn


On October 10, 2005 at approximately 2300 hours, James Earl Gossett, 49 years old of Lothian, MD, allegedly displayed a handgun and made threats to two people while at the Days Inn Hotel in Lexington Park, MD. Gossett is reported to have pointed the loaded handgun at the two victims and was eventually disarmed by the two victims and a witness. Gossett was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center by Deputy William J. Rishel where he was charged with First Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Second Degree Assault, and Possession of a Handgun.
