ChesBeach Teen, Lusby Man Arrested for Drugs


On 12/8, 5:00 PM, Rt. 2/4, Prince Frederick, TFC Keen stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, TFC Keen detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was recovered. Arrested at that time for possession of marijuana were Keith Griffith Jones, 18, of Chesapeake Beach, and a 17-year-old male, of Huntingtown. After processing, Mr. Jones was incarcerated in the CCDC to await a commissioner?s hearing. The juvenile was released to a parent.

On 12-9, 12:36 AM, Lusby FaStop, TFC Whipp was asked to check on the welfare of a person that had been parked there several hours. Upon obtaining identification, it was learned that he was driving on a suspended license and was wanted on an open warrant by MSP for failing to appear in court on a traffic charge. Further investigation revealed that the tags displayed on the vehicle were registered to another vehicle. Arrested at that time was Paul William Barton, 46, of Lusby. Incident to arrest, several pieces of CDS paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. Mr. Barton was transported to the Prince Frederick Barrack and charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and several traffic violations. He was incarcerated in the CCDC pending a commissioner's hearing.
