"McKay for Southern Maryland" has announced that St. Mary's County Commissioner President Thomas F. McKay (R) will run for Maryland State Senate in 2006. A public announcement is scheduled for Wednesday, January 4, 2006. McKay has planned announcement events at three different locations: Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall will be the kick off point at 10 am; moving to the new All-American Harley Davidson in Hughesville at 1 pm, and the American Legion Hall in Lusby at 4 pm.
"Southern Maryland has an enormous economic and intellectual value to the State of Maryland and should play a significant role at the table of public policy," said President McKay. "After 88 years of the Maryland Senate being controlled by one philosophy, it is time for new vision and leadership."
