Armed Carjacking in Waldorf

The spree of armed crimes against citizens in Charles continues. On Jan. 22 at 10:07 p.m., a 21-year-old Waldorf man was driving through Carrington in Waldorf when he stopped his car near the park by the townhouses to correct a mechanical problem. A male suspect then approached him, brandished two handguns and demanded his money. The victim complied and gave the suspect his wallet and money from inside the vehicle. The suspect then ordered the passenger, a 19-year-old Waldorf man, out of the vehicle and demanded his money. The victim complied. The suspect then stole the victims' Nextel cellular phones and fled in their vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a dark-complexioned black male. He was wearing a jacket with an "Arctic" patch on the sleeve. The victim's vehicle is a 2004 silver Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows and dual exhaust. It bears Maryland tags 2AFC52. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer R. Gottschall is investigating.
