Two Fifty-somethings Arrested for Marijuana & Cocaine


On Janurary 27, 2006 at 0134 Hours Dfc. Elizabeth Trossbach observed a vehicle parked near the front doors of the Third Base Store in Loveville, Maryland. Dfc. Trossbach observed two subjects acting in a suspicious manner and confronted the subjects. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle she detected the odor of burnt Marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of suspected Marijuana and Cocaine. The driver of the vehicle, Steven P. Yates, age 55, of Mechanicsville and the passenger in the vehicle, Thomas L. Thompson, age 52, of Mechanicsville were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Both Subjects were incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a Bond Hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
