Two Drug Arrests in Calvert County by MSP


POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 2-25, 3:30 AM, Rt. 260, Owings, TFC White and TPR Chirichella stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the occupants, TPR Chirichella detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was found on the person of James Otis Moore, 20, of Forestville. Mr. Moore was placed under arrest at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On 2-25, 9:17 AM, Capital Hill Ln., Huntingtown, TPR Tillett stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the operator, Robert Walter Smith, 39, of Prince Frederick, TPR Tillett detected the strong odor of alcohol. A computer check revealed that Mr. Smith was driving on a suspended license, and the passenger, Sarah Elizabeth Carter, 22, of Valley Lee, was wanted on an open bench warrant by the CCSO. Incident to arrest, a CDS smoking device containing suspected cocaine was located on the passenger's seat. Once at the barrack, Mr. Smith was also charged with DUI. Ms. Carter was charged with possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, they were incarcerated in the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.
