Homeless Man Arrested for Stealing Car from Charlotte Hall


On July 17, 2006, a citizen reported that her 1997 Mercury Sable was stolen from her parking lot. The vehicle was parked at a Charlotte Hall commercial establishment. The victim resides in the apartments above.

As the call was being broadcast to deputies, another citizen reported erratic driving on Maryland Route 235 southbound. The vehicle identified in the citizen's report matched the description of the stolen automobile. Deputies responded to the area of Three Notch Road and Clover Hill Road upon where Corporal William E. Hill spotted the stolen vehicle. The driver attempted to elude Cpl. Hill by turning onto a dirt driveway. Cpl. Hill continued pursuit. The vehicle stopped on the road and the driver fled on foot. Cpl. Hill pursued the man and apprehended him without incident.

Arrested was Kevin Price, Age 49, of no fixed address (homeless). He was charged with Theft Over $500.00. The value of the four door Sable was estimated at 2,500 dollars.
