On Aug. 2, 2006 at 10:13 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Woodberry Drive in Bryans Road for the report of a shooting. Investigation revealed the victim, a 20-year-old Bryans Road woman, was walking with her boyfriend near Lantana Drive and Woodberry Drive when a vehicle drove past and fired multiple shots. One shot struck the victim in the leg.
She was transported by ambulance to Fort Washington Medical Center where she was treated and released. No one else was injured. The incident does not appear to be a random act.
