Software Problem May Have Resulted in Incorrect Water Bills in Charles County

Water Bills to Be Reviewed by the County

The Charles County Commissioners announced today that a software problem may have resulted in incorrect charges on resident’s most recent quarterly water bills. The commissioners stated that the billing system may have failed to prorate certain rate changes for the water bills.

As a result of the suspected problem, the County will conduct an audit of affected water accounts for bills that have been issued since July 1, 2006. Any discrepancies uncovered by the audit will be reflected as adjustments to charges in the next billing cycle.
