St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today announced the following incidents and arrests.

John Charles Yaukey, age 43 of Lexington Park, was arrested for Second Degree Assault and False Statement to a Police Officer. Deputies responded to a Lexington Park residence for the reported domestic assault with a knife. Upon arrival Deputies found that the victim, Loria Jean Bramble, age 42 of Lexington Park, displayed outward signs of injury to her head. It was discovered through the investigation that Suspect Yaukey had assaulted the victim and then call 911 to falsely report that she had a knife. The victim's injury was caused by the Suspect forcing her head into a kitchen cabinet. Deputy Mark A. Smith was the arresting Deputy.

Suspect Kelly Elizabeth Gant, age 29 of Great Mills, was charged on a Criminal Summons by Deputy Michael George with Second Degree Assault. Suspect Gant assaulted the victim at the St. Mary's County Fairground on September 22, 2006 while both attended the County Fair. The victim was kicked, scratched and punched and she sustained injuries to include a chipped tooth.

Michael Jamar Watson, age 20 of Lexington Park, was arrested and charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault. The charges stemmed from Deputy Mark A. Smith's investigation into a domestic dispute. The Suspect shoved one person into a wall and the other over a chair. The second victim suffered minor injuries to his right arm and leg.
