Man in Critical Condition After Waldorf Shooting


LA PLATA, Md. - According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Department, on Oct. 26 at 6:47 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of Village Square Shopping Center in the 3600 block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf for the report of a shooting. Upon the officers’ arrival, they found the victim who had been shot multiple times.

The victim was identified as a 34-year-old Waldorf/Suitland man. He was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to an area hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Detectives are obtaining information from several witnesses who were in the area and are still investigating the motive.
