Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CDS VIOLATION: On November 1 at 3:45 p.m. Dfc. Gary Shrawder conducted a traffic stop on Governor's Run Road in Port Republic. The driver of the vehicle, Andre J. Riddle, 22, of Prince Frederick was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II drug.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A resident on Simpson Farm Road in Dunkirk advised Dfc. Peter Aurich that unknown suspects had spray painted words in the roadway on the cul-de-sac. It appears to have happened sometime over night on November 2. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dfc. Aurich at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Cpl. Darron Makrokanis conducted a traffic stop on Md. Rt. 4 at Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick on November 3 at 11:00 p.m. A passenger in the vehicle, a juvenile, was found to have suspected marijuana in his possession. The juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana on a youth report and released to the custody of his mother.

BURGLARY AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A victim called police from her place of employment on Saturday, November 4 at 12:27 a.m. to report that her ex-boyfriend had called her and was in her home illegally, causing damage and threatening to shoot his gun off in her home. She reported that while on the phone with the suspect, she heard a gunshot. Dfc. William Milam responded to the victim's home on Robshire Manor Drive in Huntingtown and could see lights on inside the house. He activated his public address system and gave several verbal commands for the suspect to exit. The suspect, later identified as Christopher W. DiSilvio, 25, of St. Leonard, exited the residence and was arrested and charged with burglary and destruction of property.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Dfc. John M. "Marty" McCarroll responded to a home on Penny Lane in Sunderland on November 5 at 3:47 p.m. for the report of a destruction of property that had just occurred to an automobile. The victim stated that she and her boyfriend had been arguing in the vehicle, which is owned by the victim, when the suspect suddenly stopped, put the car in park and exited the vehicle. He then jumped on the hood of the vehicle, stomping on it and causing it to cave inward and break the windshield. The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $2,500. The suspect, later identified as Justin D. Smith, 19, of Sunderland, was arrested and charged with destruction of property.
