MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY: On 11-1, 7:16 PM, H. G. Trueman Rd., Lusby, TFC Whipp stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A computer check revealed that the tags displayed on the vehicle had been reported stolen in Silver Spring, MD, and the operator, Kenneth Allen Charest, 25, of Lusby, was driving on a suspended license. In addition to the traffic citations, Mr. Charest was charged with theft (-$100). After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 11-3, 4:47 PM, Rt. 2/4, Prince Frederick, TPR Towers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the operator, Michael Harry Coyle, 19, of St. Leonard, TPR Towers detected the odor of suspected marijuana. Assisted by TFC Murphy, a CDS smoking device containing suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle. Mr. Coyle was placed under arrest at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 11-3, 10:07 PM, Rt. 260, Owings, TFC Koch stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator, Carroll Alex Daniel Fulwood, 23, of Mitchellville, was subsequently arrested for DUI, processed, and transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing. Incident to arrest, a baggie of suspected marijuana was recovered. Mr. Fulwood was then additionally charged with possession of marijuana.

SHOPLIFTING: On 11-5, 1:37 AM, TFC Brooks responded to a lookout in the area of the Lusby FaStop for a theft that had just occurred. TFC Brooks observed the suspect in a group of people, approximately 150 feet from the store. As TFC Brooks approached in his vehicle, the suspect started running. With the assistance of an off-duty Riverdale Park PD officer, TFC Brooks apprehended the suspect. The suspect was returned to the FaStop, and witnesses confirmed that he was the one who had left the premises without paying for merchandise. Arrested for theft (-$500) was Kyle William Hinchman, 19, of Lusby. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
