Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Dep. Brianne Gray responded to the area of 12th Street and B Street in Chesapeake Beach on November 20 at 7:36 p.m. for a suspicious vehicle report. Dep. Gray located the vehicle and ordered the two occupants out. While this was occurring, a female, later identified as Kelly J. Orescan, 44, of Chesapeake Beach, approached Dep. Gray acting disorderly and using profanity. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing and hindering a police officer and resisting arrest. The two vehicle occupants were released.

BURGLARY: A victim on Grovers Turn Road in St. Leonard reported to Dep. Elvis Carter that his home had been burglarized and a Dell Inspiron Laptop computer, a Dell Projector and over $200 in currency was stolen from his home. The burglary appears to have occurred on November 20 between 3:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The items are valued at over $4,200. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: Seven hundred dollars worth of tools were stolen from the rear of a work truck that had been parked unlocked on 4th Street in North Beach overnight on November 21. Two DeWalt power drills, a DeWalt sawzall and a Stihl chainsaw were taken. Dep. Kevin Hall will continue this investigation.

VEHICLE THEFT: Sgt. Brian Koehn was contacted by a victim who reported that he had parked his Chevy Cavalier at the Park and Ride on Rt. 231 in Prince Frederick with a "for sale" sign in the window on November 20. The vehicle was found the following day in Charles County badly damaged and stripped of parts. Sgt. Koehn will continue the investigation.

CDS VIOLATION: DFC David Denton responded to the Giant Food store in Dunkirk on November 22 at 1:29 in the afternoon for a shoplifter in custody. During a search incident to arrest suspected marijuana was located on the suspect. Denton arrested Kevin M. Sweeney, Jr., 23, of Owings and charged him with theft and possession of marijuana.
