WALDORF, Md. - According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Department, on Dec. 16 at 11:48 p.m., officers responded to St. Charles Parkway at St. Ignatius Court in Waldorf for a report of a motorcycle crash.

The officer's investigation revealed that a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling south on St. Charles Parkway when the driver lost control and struck a curb on the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then struck a metal sign and a tree before coming to a stop.

The driver, Marvin Eddie Walker, 36, of Waldorf, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Speed may have been a factor in the crash. It does not appear that alcohol was a factor. Walker was wearing a helmet.

Officer S. Stanley of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
