LEONARDTOWN, Md. - Detectives from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) say that as a result of a dispute over money, on March 8 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Jesse A. Ward, 17, from Solomons Maryland, fired a shotgun into an occupied residence on Queentree Road in Mechanicsville. The intended target was not home at the time of the shooting.
Pursuant to the investigation, detectives arrested Ward on March 9 and charged him as an adult with Assault 1st Degree and Reckless Endangerment.
Ward was incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
