Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CDS POSSESSION: On March 7 at 1:04 a.m. Dep. Elvis A. Carter conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Md. Rt. 231 and Prince Frederick Boulevard. The driver, later identified as Kendra Williams, 26 of Huntingtown, was found to be driving while intoxicated. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Williams was charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Two hundred dollars in damage was done to the men's room door at the Dunkirk District Park sometime between March 5 and 7. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Michael P. Naecker.

THEFT: Unknown suspects removed ten pieces of treated lumber worth $240 from the lumber yard of Dunkirk Supply on Skinners Turn Road between February 26 and March 9. DFC Todd A. Smith is investigating.

UNDERAGE DRINKING: Three juveniles were cited on juvenile civil citations for possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 after they were caught drinking inside Northern Middle School in Owings on March 9 at 10:11 a.m.. One of the juveniles, a 13 year old female of Huntingtown, had passed out in the nurses' station. After regaining consciousness, she was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital. The other two, a 14 year old female also of Huntingtown and a 13 year old male of Dunkirk, were released to the custody of a parent.

SHOPLIFTING: A fourteen year old male of Lusby was charged with theft on a youth report and released to a parent after he was observed taking merchandise worth $45 out of the Prince Frederick K-Mart without paying for it. Dep. Johnny Coates responded to the store on March 9 at 2:00 p.m. after a store employee confronted the juvenile.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Three people were arrested and charged with assault after a fight at Guido's Restaurant in Lusby on March 9 at 10:09 p.m. DFC Christopher Sloane responded to the scene and while making an arrest on one suspect, identified as James E. Denton, 44 of Lusby, for attempting to assault him, Sloane was assaulted by Brandy M. Staples, 19 of Lusby. Also arrested was Edward R. Thomas, 22 of Lusby, for assaulting a patron of Guido's. Sloane was assisted by Dep. Robert Burggraff, DFC David Denton and Trooper Michael D. Lass of the Maryland State Police. All three suspects were transported to the Calvert County Detention Center to await a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

CDS VIOLATION: A fifteen year old female from Lusby was found to be in possession of ecstasy pills after DFC Eric Basham conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle she was a passenger in on March 10 at 3:55 in the morning. The juvenile and an adult male were traveling on Md. Rt. 261 in the area of the Naval Research Center in Chesapeake Beach. The juvenile was charged on a youth report and released to a parent.

THEFT: Christopher A. Gasch, 26 of Owings, was arrested on theft charges March 10 at around 2:00 p.m. for stealing over $600 worth of merchandise from Walmart. Gasch and a female accomplice were observed leaving the store without paying for the merchandise and driving away. Gasch was apprehended by Dep. Johnny Coates. The accomplice, Keeli R. Cullember, 21 of Deale, fled the scene but turned herself in to the Calvert County Sheriff's Office on March 12 and was served with an arrest warrant for theft.
