MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF CONCEALED WEAPON: On 5-2, 12:57 PM, Rt. 260, Owings, TFC Stein stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A computer check revealed that the operator, James Travis Wood, 20, of Lothian, was driving on a suspended license. The computer check also revealed that the tags displayed on the vehicle belonged to another, and the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. Incident to arrest, brass knuckles were located on his person. Along with the traffic charges, Mr. Wood was charged with possession of a concealed deadly weapon. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

THEFT: On 5-2, between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM, an unknown culprit forcibly entered a vehicle parked at Dunkirk Marketplace and removed 2 credit cards. One of the cards was used at 3 stores in Waldorf to charge $1850.00 in merchandise. The investigation is continuing by CIT.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 5-4, 11:39 PM, TPR Towers responded to the Lusby FaStop for a reported fight. Upon his arrival, he observed a vehicle speeding out of the parking lot with no lights on. He stopped the vehicle and contacted the occupants. A passenger, James Jamul Jones, 19, of Prince Frederick, was issued a civil citation for underage possession of an alcoholic beverage and released. The operator, Julie Marie Barclay, 20, of Lusby, was observed by Deputy Velasquez reaching into the center console and putting a pack of cigarettes in her pocket. The cigarette pack was seized and found to contain suspected marijuana. Ms. Barclay was then placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. While investigating the reported assault, witnesses stated that an unknown male and Ms. Barclay were involved in an argument inside the store and she pushed him into a donut rack. Due to the victim leaving the scene, no assault charge was filed against Ms. Barclay. After processing, she was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 5-5, 4:27 AM, Rt. 2/4, Solomons, TPR Towers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator, Amanda Leigh Mogavero, 20, of St. Leonard, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, suspected marijuana and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. Ms. Mogavero was then additionally charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, she was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN/STOLEN PROPERTY: On 5-6, 12:05 AM, Rt. 2/4, Prince Frederick, TFC Bowling responded to assist CPL Peck with a traffic stop. The operator, Bruce Anthony Wiley, 52, of Baltimore, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, suspected heroin and CDS paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. A computer check also revealed that the tag displayed on the vehicle had been reported stolen from Stewartstown, PA. In addition to the DUI, Mr. Wiley was charged with theft (-$100) and possession of heroin and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
