MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Monday, June 11, 2007 at 5:25 am, Tpr. M. Adams responded to a reported burglary in the 21000 block of Chancellors Run Road in Great Mills. Contact was made with the female complainant who advised three unknown males took items from the residence next door and left the scene in a Toyota Camry with Maryland registration 7CZ_34 in an unknown direction. Investigation continues.

On Monday, June 11, 2007 at 8:50 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a gray Dodge Neon on Route 235 in the area of Expedition Park Drive in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the female driver, an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Tpr C. Evans arrived to assist and contact was made with the front passenger, Reginald Frank Johnson, 25, of Lexington Park. Mr. Johnson was found to be in possession of a partially burnt marijuana cigar. He was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review. Contact was also made with the rear passenger, Jessica Shavone Holt, 22, of Lexington Park. A wanted check revealed Ms. Holt had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for driving while suspended. She was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where the warrant was served by Tpr C. Evans. The driver was issued an equipment repair order for the violation and released at the scene.

On Monday, June 11, 2007 at 10:15 pm, Tpr. Brill responded to a reported theft from motor vehicle in the Subway parking lot in the San Souci Plaza in California. Contact was made with the female victim. She advised unknown subject(s) broke into her gold Hyundai Elantra and took her purse containing an LG cellphone, paycheck from Subway, Navy Federal Credit Union Check Card, key to the vehicle and $50.00 in currency. Investigation continues.

On Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 9:34 am, TFC E. Evans observed Derek Clifton Marshall, 28, of Lexington Park operating a blue Ford Freestar on Route 235 south of Route 246 in Lexington Park. A traffic stop was initiated and a MVA checked revealed Mr. Marshall's driving privileges have been suspended and revoked since December 2006. Mr. Marshall was subsequently arrested for driving on a suspended and revoked driver's license. Contact was also made with the passenger, Sarah Elizabeth Rand, 24, of Lexington Park. Ms. Rand was found to be in possession of a partially burnt marijuana cigar. She was arrested for possession of marijuana and both subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11:11 am, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a green Chevrolet S-10 truck for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 5 in the area of Lockes Hill Road in Mechanicsville. Contact was made with the driver, Christopher Cote Johnson, 20, of Bel Alton. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Johnson was found to be in possession of three small baggies of marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Mr. Johnson was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Friday, June 15, 2007 at 7:17 pm, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a tan Toyota Tacoma for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 235 at Poplar Ridge Road in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the driver, Geremy Michael Tilley, 21, of Lexington Park and a check through MVA revealed Mr. Tilley's driving privileges were suspended in Maryland. Mr. Tilley was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Tilley was in possession of a plastic bag of marijuana. Mr. Tilley was charged with possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 3:00 am, Tpr. McCartney responded to a reported malicious destruction of property at the Food Lion in the Leonardtown Center. Contact was made with the male complainant, who advised unknown suspect(s) pried open the soda machines and took an undetermined amount of money. A check of the area revealed 5 soda machines in the Leonardtown Center were damaged and the money removed. Investigation continues.

On Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 7:21 pm, Tpr. Pilkerton initiated a traffic stop on a black Ford Probe for a traffic violation on Mechanicsville Road at Route 5 in Mechanicsville. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, a 17 year old male, of Mechanicsville who was in possession of a small bag of marijuana and a CDS smoking device. The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing and further action is pending by Juvenile Services. He was later released to his parents.

On Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 6:45 pm, TFC E. Evans responded to a reported unwanted guest in the 17000 block of Owensville Way in St. Inigoes. Contact was made with the complainant, Sean Michael Curvin, 26, of St. Inigoes who advised he wanted his girlfriend removed from the residence. Once inside the residence 3 CDS smoking devices with burnt marijuana were observed in plain view. Mr. Curvin was issued a criminal citation and released at the scene for possession of CDS paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 1:29 am, TFC Grimes responded to the 20000 block of Point Lookout Road in Callaway for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, who advised her son, Dionta Quantiaus Taylor, 20 of Callaway assaulted her, broke her 2 cell phones and damaged the wall inside the residence. Mr. Taylor was arrested for 2nd degree assault and malicious destruction of property. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 1:04 am, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a red Pontiac Grand Am on Route 235 at Pegg Road in Lexington Park for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Patricia Ann Miller, 44, of Lusby, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Miller was found to be in possession of cocaine and was subsequently arrested; transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 9:57 pm, Tpr. M. Adams responded to a reported juvenile assault in the 45000 block of Indian Way in Lexington Park. Upon arrival contact was made with the 11 year old male who was assaulted by a 10 year old male. During the course of the investigation, both children were charged accordingly and released to the parent/guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.

On Friday, June 22, 2007 at 7:30 pm, TFC Fleetwood responded to the 38000 block of East Edinview Court in Mechanicsville for a reported burglary. Upon arrival contact was made with the complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) entered the residence during the day and stole 4 basketball jerseys and $512.00 in currency. No further information is available at this time and the investigation continues.

On Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 7:35 pm, TFC E. Evans responded to the area of Route 5 and Sunnyside Road in Loveville for a reported traffic complaint. Upon arrival, TFC Evans observed a black Pontiac Grand Am on the shoulder of the road and made contact with the driver, a 17 year old male, of Leonardtown and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath and person. The juvenile was arrested for DUI and a search incident to arrest revealed a CDS smoking device with marijuana residue on his person. He was charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and DUI and was released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

On Monday June 25, 2007 at 2:10 am, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Citation on Route 235 north of Rue Purchase Road in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the female driver and the passenger, Julius Bradford Cooper, 5th, 28, of Hollywood. A clear plastic baggie of marijuana was observed in plain view protruding from his pants pocket. Mr. Cooper was arrested for possession of marijuana and a search also revealed he was in possession of a CDS smoking device. He was also charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

Bench Warrant for failing to appear in District Court on charges for possession of marijuana was served by TFC E. Evans on June 13, 2007 on Jawean M. Carroll, 22, of Mechanicsville.

Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court for DWI & DUI was served by TFC Quade on
June 16, 2007 on Paul Eddie Pritchett, 47, of Hollywood.

Bench Warrant for failing to appear in District Court on charges for driving on a suspended license was served by Tpr. M. Adams on June 19, 2007 on Arthur Jeffrey Mitchell, Jr., 40, of Waldorf.

Arrest Warrant for theft scheme over $500; and 2 counts of theft under $500 was served by TFC Lashsley on June 21, 2007 on Mindy Anne Shultz, 26, of Mechanicsville.

Arrest Warrant for theft scheme over $500; and 2 counts of theft under $500 was served by TFC Nims on June 21, 2007 on Courtney Dean Johnston, 24, of Mechanicsville.

Circuit Court Warrants for 3 counts of possession of CDS -not marijuana and 1 count of possession of cocaine was served by TFC Nims on June 21, 2007 on Eldridge Eugene Shade, 41, of Mechanicsville.
