Charles County Increases Reward for Information on Shooting Suspect


LA PLATA, Md. (Jan. 9, 2008)—The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has raised the reward for information about a shooting that occurred Nov. 28 in the 2600 block of Husk Place in Waldorf to $5,000.

Officers responded to the scene about 9:50 p.m. and discovered a 36-year-old Waldorf man with multiple gunshot wounds lying on a sidewalk. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was robbed by two unknown suspects while he was walking from his vehicle to a building. Officers, a K9 team and U.S. Park Police helicopter Eagle 2 searched the area but the suspects were not located.

The victim was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center where he remains in critical condition.

Crime Solvers is offering an additional reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment. All callers remain anonymous.
