MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 10, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 1:17 pm, Michael Jamar Watson, 20, of Lexington Park, was arrested by Tpr. B. McCartney for 2nd Degree Domestic Assault. Tpr B. McCartney responded to the 21000 block of Cambridge Avenue in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim who advised she and her two sons were assaulted by Mr. Watson. All parties were interviewed separately and as a result, Mr. Watson was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Monday, January 7, 2008 at 8:52 am, TFC J. Linger and Tpr. W. Jefferson responded to a reported Malicious Destruction of Property in the 46000 block of Valley Court in Lexington Park. During the course of the investigation, contact was made with the female victim who advised unknown suspect(s) damaged her brown Cadillac Brougham. The suspect(s) took the JVC 12 disc CD changer valued at $200.00 from the vehicle and caused an estimated $500.00 damage to the vehicle by scratching the side of the Cadillac. One suspect was located and arrested for the crime. Jennifer Leann Wilson, 25, of Lexington Park was charged with Malicious Destruction of Property and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review. The investigation continues.

ASSAULT: On Monday, January 7, 2008 at 2:53 pm, TFC M Grimes and Tpr. G. Thompson responded to the 17000 block of Piney Point Road in Piney Point for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant who advised Clarence Webster Morgan, 61, of Piney Point was inside the residence and extremely intoxicated. She also advised that she was assaulted by him. During the course of the investigation, TFC Grimes was interviewing Mr. Morgan when he became disorderly. After a brief struggle with Mr. Morgan, he was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's Hospital for high blood pressure and dehydration. A criminal Summons was obtained for 2 counts of Assault by Mr. Morgan for which he was served the summons at St. Mary's Hospital.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, January 7, 2008 at 4:02 pm, Darren Edward Cole, 20, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Cole was operating a green Honda Accord on south bound Route 235,in the area of Jones Wharf Road in Hollywood when he was stopped for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Cole and a moderate odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A routine MVA check revealed Mr. Cole's driving privileges are suspended and Mr. Cole was taken into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed one partially burnt Marijuana cigarette in the ashtray of the vehicle. Mr. Cole was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of Marijuana and driving on a suspended license. He was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, January 7, 2008 at 5:45 pm, Jason Arthur Siebert, 29, of Ridge was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13108) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on October 23, 2007. The original charge was DWI/DUI, Driving on Suspended and Revoked license and driving Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Mr. Siebert was already incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held on unrelated charges.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 4:15 pm, Colleen Dawn Richards, 39, of La Plata was arrested by TFC K. Lashley on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13174) for Failing to Follow Condition of Probation issued by District Court in Leonardtown on November 28, 2007. The original charge was for possession of CDS not Marijuana. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 7:40 am, TFC E. Evans served an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-12901) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on June 18, 2007 on Gene Leroy Scofield, 71, no fixed address. The original charge was Sex Abuse of Minor. Mr. Scofield was apprehended by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office in Michigan. Mr. Scofield was extradited back to the State of Maryland to answer the charges. He is incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
