LEXINGTON PARK, Md. (March 14, 2008 @ 12:10 p.m.)—A gas leak has been identified on Buck Hewitt Road in Lexington Park between Chancellors Run Road and Route 235. County emergency officials are asking residents and businesses in the area to shelter in place and extinguish sources of ignition.
Residents are also advised to not use telephones and to disconnect wire line phones so they do not ring.
A Reverse 911 call has been made to affected residents with this advice.
Fire Department personnel and equipment and representatives from Washington Gas are on site.
