St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 26, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ARMED ROBBERS TURNS HIMSELF IN: Michael Anthony McCoy, 17, of Lexington Park, turned himself in to BCI detectives on March 25. He was charged as an adult with armed robbery and 1st degree assault for the March 19 armed robbery of a Domino's Pizza delivery man in Lexington Park (See http://somd.com/news/headlines/2008/7375.shtml). McCoy was incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On March 20 at approximately 10:35 p.m., Deputy First Class Keith Moritz observed an occupied, suspicious vehicle parked in back of the A & E Motel in Lexington Park. Dfc. Moritz approached the vehicle and made contact with the occupant. As Dfc. Moritz was speaking with the occupant, he observed a glass smoking device on the floor board. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggie containing a white powder substance, suspected cocaine. David Eugene Worthington, 36 of Pomfret, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance - cocaine and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
