MSP Reports for Charles County


RIDGE, Md. (April 11, 2008) - The choruses from Ridge and Dynard (in Chaptico) Elementary Schools' in St Mary's County, have been selected to participate in the upcoming National Cherry Blossom Parade on Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Washington, D.C.

The Ridge Chorus is under the direction of music teacher Sara Zylak. The Dynard Chorus is under the direction of music teacher Tracie Wiesemann.

In addition to marching in the parade, the choruses will perform perform a medley of "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and "We Are the World" in front of the White House.

According to Ms. Sandra Kerner, principal of Ridge Elementary, the students and their parents are very excited about this opportunity, and are very appreciative of Ms. Zylak for making this happen.

"Dynard's students and parents have been anxiously awaiting this opportunity and are thrilled that it is only a few days away," said Ms. Wieseman.

The parade will be televised and can be viewed live on WJLA Channel 7 at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
