MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 19, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT, OUTSTANDING WARRANT: On Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 8:20 am, Tpr. G. Thompson responded to a reported Disturbance in the 45000 block of Columbus Drive in Great Mills. Contact was made with the female complainant who advised she was assaulted by Christopher Aaron Carter, 24, of Huntingtown. A routine check through NCIC revealed Mr. Carter had an outstanding Bench Warrant through the Calvert County Sheriff's Office. The original charge was Paternity / Non-Support. Mr. Carter was transported to Calvert County where he was released to the Calvert County Sheriff's Office. Investigation continues on the Assault charges.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 8:02 pm, John Edward Colleary, 4th, 18, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Colleary was operating a gray Dodge when he was stopped for speeding on Route 244, in the area of Richey Road in Valley Lee. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, Mr. Colleary and an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Colleary was found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device with marijuana residue. Mr. Colleary was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 1:02 am, Jon S. Lore, 3rd, 21, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Lore was a passenger in a blue Hyundai when the vehicle was stopped on Trapp Road in Dameron for failing to drive in single lane. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Lore was found to be in possession of CDS paraphernalia containing Marijuana. Mr. Lore was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ASSAULT ON POLICE: On Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:22 pm, TFC P. Trossbach, TFC J. Fleetwood and Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to the reported CDS complaint in area of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department. As Troopers arrived they observed several males attempting to push a disabled vehicle. As they were being questioned, the sister of one of the male subjects, Wendy Alohalani Short, 18, of Chaptico arrived and began screaming and yelling profanities. She assaulted Tpr. J. Pilkerton and TFC P. Trossbach. She was then arrested by TFC P. Trossbach and taken into custody. Ms. Short was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged with Assault on Police and detained pending a bond review.

THEFT: On Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 7:43 pm, Tpr. K. Roby responded to the 23000 block of Lawrence Hayden Road in Hollywood for a reported residential Burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant who advised an unknown suspect entered the residence and stole an estimated $50.00 in coins. The investigation continues.

THEFT: On Friday, May 16, 2008 at 6:00 pm, Shawn David Dockstader, 32, of Lusby was arrested by Cpl. S. Koch for Theft Over $500. Cpl. Koch responded to the Wal-Mart store in California for the reported Theft in progress. During the course of the investigation, Mr. Dockstader was leaving the Wal-Mart store when he was arrested for the theft of 15 DVD movies valued at $578.50 and eight printer cartridges valued at $268.00. Total value was $846.50. Mr. Dockstader was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:05 pm, Adam Daniel Davis, 21, of Coltons Point and Brian Matthew Thomas Wheedleton, 20, of Hollywood were arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Cocaine. Mr. Davis was operating a white Honda when they were stopped on Timberline Court in Compton. Contact was made with the occupants and a moderate odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, both Mr. Davis and Mr. Wheedleton were found to be in possession of Cocaine. They were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were held pending a bond review.

THEFT OF LICENSE PLATES: On Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 7:11 am, Tpr. M. Adams responded to the WaWa at Route 4 and Route 235 in California for the reported Theft under $100.00. Contact was made with the male complainant who advised between April 29, 2008 and May 14, 2008 both Maryland registration plates were stolen from his white Chevrolet van which was parked at the Park and Ride in Charlotte Hall. The complainant also reported during this period the rear Maryland registration plate was stolen from his white GMC Sierra. Suspect(s) unknown and the investigation continues.

ASSAULT: On Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 9:51 am, James Calvin Morgan, 43, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton for Assault 2nd Degree. Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to a reported Disturbance in the 21000 block of Great Mills in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the female complainant who advised she was assaulted by Mr. Morgan. Mr. Morgan was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 9:50 pm, a male juvenile, 16, of La Plata was arrested by TFC L. Nims for possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. TFC M. Davis was working off-duty at M.I.R. when he observed the male juvenile light up a Marijuana cigarette in the parking lot. During the course of the investigation, contact was made with the juvenile and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from his person. TFC Nims arrived on the scene and took custody of the juvenile and transported him to the Leonardtown Barrack. He was processed and later released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 11:55 pm, Julie Ann Clarke, 40, of Loveville was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13336) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on March 27, 2008. The original charge was possession of CDS not Marijuana. Ms. Clarke was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 6:35 pm, Timothy Allen Young, 47, of Avenue was arrested by TFC J. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13393) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 7, 2008. The original charge was possession of CDS not Marijuana. Mr. Young was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, May 16, 2008 at 5:00 pm, Kevin Mark Zylich, 28, of Charlotte Hall was arrested by TFC J. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13306) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on February 29, 2008. The original charge was Driving on Suspended License. Mr. Zylich was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
