Charlotte Hall Food Lion Robbed

CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. (June 25, 2008)—The Food Lion Store in Charlotte Hall was robbed on Tuesday at approximately 8:30 p.m. The lone bandit escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say a white male in his 30's, 5'11", 190 lbs., wearing jean shorts, an orange shirt, red hat, white tennis shoes, sunglasses, and a beige bandana over his face entered the store, placed his hand over a bulge in his shirt and handed a store cashier a note which demanded money. The store employee complied and the suspect fled in a white four door sedan with the cash.

Police were able to obtain several photos of the suspect, of very poor quality, from store surveillance cameras.

This same store made the news in late May when police announced they had arrested a store employee who had allegedly stolen approximately $5,000 worth of currency and various food items between early April 2008 and May 16, 2008.
