Coast Guard Searching For Missing Indian Head Man


BALTIMORE (July 15, 2008)—The Coast Guard is searching the Potomac River near Craney Island for a missing boater today.

Missing is Stanley Langly from Indian Head, Md.

Watch standers from Coast Guard Sector Baltimore were notified at 11:18 p.m. Monday by Charles County Police that a 51-year-old man in a 17-foot vessel was reported overdue by his family members.

Rescue crews from Coast Guard Station Washington D.C., Air Station Atlantic City N.J., along with crews from Maryland Natural Resource Police and the Craney Island Park Police Helicopter searched through out the night.

MNRP found the vessel near Hallowing Point but no personnel effects. Crews from Station Washington D.C. with other local agencies continue to search.
