Police Still Searching for Kidnappers, PNC Bank Robbers


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 24, 2008, 1:40 p.m.)—Police are still searching for three black males who were responsible for the kidnapping of a PNC bank employee and her two children this morning from their home in Lusby. After the kidnapping, the men proceeded to rob the PNC bank at 23131 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park before it opened. Two men were directly involved in the kidnapping and robbery and the third suspect is believed to be the driver of the getaway car.

The kidnapping victims were released unharmed shortly after the robbery was completed.

The roadblocks throughout St. Mary's County have been released and detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) are currently following up leads, according to Cindy Allen, the public information officer for the Sheriff. Police are still searching for the three suspects and their black Nissan Sentra getaway car, said Allen.

According to Allen, none of the three suspect's identities are currently known to police.

The Calvert County public school system announced shortly after 1:00 p.m. today that they were canceling their partial lockdown of all schools from Prince Frederick south at 1:15 p.m.

Schools in St. Mary's County have already dismissed to due a pre-scheduled early dismissal.
