Armed Robbery Results in School Lockdown in Calvert


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 11, 2009)—Authorities locked down schools in the southern part of Calvert County mid-morning after a man robbed a woman at gunpoint. Authorities made the announcement just after 10:00 a.m.

Calvert police say an unknown black male, wearing a heavy coat and a red bandana over his face, approached a woman on Joy Lee Road this morning at gunpoint and fled on foot in an unknown direction. It is unknown at this time if the robber made off with any property.

Police are on the scene attempting to locate the suspect.
