Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (March 12, 2009) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CITIZEN ROBBERY: On March 11 at 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Stone Avenue in Waldorf for the report of a citizen robbery. Investigation revealed the victim heard a noise coming from his carport. He looked outside and observed the door on his shed had been opened. When he went outside to investigate further, an unknown suspect grabbed him and began assaulting him. The suspect stole the victim's wallet and fled. Officers responded and located the victim's wallet about 15 feet away. The suspect is described as a black male, between 5'7" - 6'0", wearing a ball cap with the letter "W" on the front and a black and gray North Face jacket. Anyone with information should call the District III Station at (301) 932-7777 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. The Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect. Officer D. Butler is investigating.

SAFETY TIP: If attacked, get a good description of the assailant-t. Carefully observe and remember as much as you can about appearance and behavior. Try to memorize details of the assailant's identity such as age, height, weight, eye and hair color. Look for any distinguishing personal characteristics, such as scars, tattoos, hairstyle, or other prominent features. Observe the assailant's clothing style and colors, jewelry, gait and manner of speech. If a car is involved in the crime, note the make, model, color and license number. Call the Sheriff's Office immediately to make a crime report.
