MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 2, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

SHOPLIFTING: On Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 5:23 pm, Tpr. M. Pitcher responded to the Belk Department Store in Wildewood for the reported theft in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female Loss Prevention employee, who advised Destiney Amber Horseman, 28, of Shadyside was in custody for theft and malicious destruction of property. Ms. Horseman was taken into custody, transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged with theft under $500 and malicious destruction of property under $500 and detained pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On Monday, March 30, 2009 at 7:00 am, Tpr. N. Gresko responded to the 26000 block of Tradesman Lane in Mechanicsville for the reported theft from motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 33, of Mechanicsville, who advised unknown suspect(s) broke into his work van and stole a Dell model 620 laptop computer, serial No. 5YQWHD1 which has been entered into NCIC. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results and the investigation continues.

BURGLARY: On Monday, March 30, 2009 at 2:09 pm, TFC M. Adams responded to the 26000 block of Loveville Road in Loveville for the reported burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 68, of Loveville, who advised unknown suspect(s) burglarized his shed and stole his Browning Model A-5, 12 gauge semi automatic shotgun with a 28" barrel and gun case. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The total value of the shotgun and case is $1,040.00. The shotgun has been entered into NCIC.

JUVENILES IN POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:10 pm, TFC R. Rezza initiated a traffic stop on Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown in the area of State Highway Administration on a white Toyota Scion that was exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, a 17 year-old female of Waldorf and the female passenger, also 17 years-old from Waldorf. A distinct odor of burnt marijuana was detected within the vehicle. TFC Rezza found a marijuana cigarette and a baggie of Marijuana in the vehicle. Both juveniles were arrested and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. They were released to their respective mothers pending further action by Juvenile Services.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, HANDGUN: On Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 8:53 am, Tpr. J. Pilkerton was patrolling Thompson Corner Road, in the area of Millwood Lane in Mechanicsville when he observed a black Lincoln exceeding the posted speed limit. The vehicle was stopped and contact with the driver, Donald Frederick Anderson, Jr., 31, of Mechanicsville was made. A strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Anderson was found in possession of a silver and black Taurus 357 handgun. Mr. Anderson was also found to be in possession of a baggie of marijuana, prescription bottle containing marijuana, a partially burnt marijuana cigarette and a metal CDS smoking device. Mr. Anderson was arrested for possession of Marijuana, CDS paraphernalia and a handgun violation. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 10:56 am, Lamont Eugene Spicer, 39, of Hermanville was arrested by Tpr. M. Koock for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Tpr. Koock responded to the 20000 block of Hermanville Road in Lexington Park for a check welfare. Upon arrival, Tpr. Koock observed clothes lying outside the residence. Mr. Spicer advised they were his clothes. Tpr. Koock observed in plain view a CDS smoking device with marijuana and a cellophane baggie containing two capsules of Marinole 10mg (liquid marijuana). Mr. Spicer was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

OUTSTANDING ARREST WARRANT: On Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 3:30 pm, Sarah Ann Jones, 21, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. E. Page on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13878) issued by the District Court in Calvert County on September 15, 2008. The original charge was tampering with electric meter. Ms. Jones was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
