MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 16, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, April 13, 2009 at 2:40 pm, Michael Darnell Holt, 35, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC F. Dolinger on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13838) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on February 26, 2009. The original charges are two counts of Reckless Endangerment and 2nd Degree Assault. There was one count of Possession of a Firearm. Mr. Holt was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

2ND DEGREE ASSAULT: On Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11:06 pm, Calvin Dilmera Berry, 25, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for 2nd Degree Assault. Tpr. Thompson responded to the 20000 block of Poplar Ridge Road in Lexington Park for the reported Hit and Run Accident. Contact was made with the female complainant, 20, of Lexington Park. She advised Mr. Berry side swiped her vehicle on Military Lane in California earlier that night. A broadcast was made through the 911 Center and Mr. Berry was observed operating his vehicle on Newtowne Neck Road in Leonardtown by Tpr. W. Jefferson. Mr. Berry was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY OVER $500: On Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 1:52 am, Calvin Dilmera Berry, 25, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for Malicious Destruction of Property to a Motor Vehicle over $500.00. Tpr. Thompson responded to the 20000 block of Poplar Ridge Road in Lexington Park and made contact with the female complainant, 35, of Lexington Park. She advised Calvin Dilmera Berry smashed her vehicle windows and cut the front driver's side tire. A description of the suspect was obtained by a nearby neighbor. Mr. Berry was located at his residence and taken into custody. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST AND FUGITIVE OTHER AREA: On Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 6:37 am, Drewery Stafford Watkins 3rd, 40, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for Possession of Prescription Medication not prescribed to him and an outstanding warrant through Prince Georges County. Mr. Watkins was a passenger in a white Oldsmobile Cutlass when it was stopped on Three Notch Road and Loveville Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. A routine check through MVA revealed the driver, James Russell Watkins, 35, of Mechanicsville was operating on a Suspended and Revoked driver's license. A routine check through NCIC revealed the passenger; Drewery Stafford Watkins 3rd, 40, of Mechanicsville had an open warrant through Prince Georges County Police Department. Both were taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Once at the Detention Center, Mr. Drewery Watkins was found to be in possession of one pill of Oxycontin. Both subjects were held pending bond reviews with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10:08 am, Moses Uchennan Ohale, 19, of Parkville was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Ohale was operating a gray Chevrolet Malibu on Three Notch Road, at Park Hall Road in Lexington Park when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Ohale, a routine MVA check was performed and revealed his driving privileges were suspended. Mr. Ohale was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Ohale was in possession of Marijuana. He was transported to the St Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 12:37 am, Hugh Howard Heiss, 18 and a 16 year old male, both of Mechanicsville were arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for Possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Heiss was operating a red Ford Taurus when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane on Three Notch Road, in the area of New Market Turner Road in Mechanicsville. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Heiss a distinct odor of Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Both Mr. Heiss and the juvenile were found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device with Marijuana. Mr. Heiss was issued a Criminal Citation and released at the scene. The juvenile was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was charged accordingly and later released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 8:35 am, Montez Wayne Chase, 18, of Lexington Park was served a Circuit Court True Bill Indictment at the St. Mary's County Detention Center by TFC L. Nims where he was already incarcerated on unrelated charges. The original charges on the True Bill Indictment are for Theft over $500.00. He is being held pending his court appearance.

BURGLARY 4TH DEGREE: On Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 5:18 pm, TFC M. Adams responded to the 46000 block of Leese Court in Lexington Park for the reported Burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 26, of Lexington Park. She advised a juvenile male attempted to cut the lock on her shed with bolt cutters. There was damage to the shed as a result. A broadcast was given and the 12 year old juvenile, of Lexington Park was located and taken into custody. The complainant identified the subject and he was taken to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was processed and charged with 4th Degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property. He was later released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.
