MSP Reports for Charles County


LA PLATA, Md. (March 16) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On March 3 at approximately 1949 hours, Trooper D. Bartch was traveling southbound U.S. Route 301 at Route 228 when he observed a silver Lincoln with window tint. Trooper Bartch stopped the vehicle and made contact with Malik Jamal Walker, 22, of Clinton, when he detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Walker was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, and was issued a Safety Equipment Repair Order for window tint.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On March 4 at approximately 1900 hours, TFC M. Newman was patrolling the rear parking lot of 3073 Leonardtown Road (mini strip mall) when he observed a white Nissan parked behind the mall. TFC Newman made contact with Shelton L. Wood, 37, of Washington D.C., and his passenger when he detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Woods was arrested for possession of marijuana.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On March 5 at approximately 2040 hours, Trooper D. Bartch was traveling northbound U.S. Route 301 at Substation Road when he observed the driver of a white Toyota not restrained with a seat belt. Trooper Bartch stopped the vehicle; made contact with driver, Tyrone Couser Jr., 23 years of Huntington, MD. Couser was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
