Local Navy Contract Awards


WASHINGTON (May 5, 2010) - The U.S. Department of Defense this week announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Research and Engineering Development, Inc., Lexington Park, Md., is being awarded a $49,712,139 cost-plus-fixed-fee indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide acquisition, engineering, analysis, development, and integration services in support of irregular warfare efforts sponsored by the Naval Air Systems Command's Human Systems Department (AIR-4.6). The estimated level of effort for this contract is 237,720 man-hours. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md. (80 percent), Fallon, Nev. (10 percent), and various locations outside the United States (10 percent). Work is expected to be completed in May 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-10-D-0001).

L-3 Communications Corp., Salt Lake City, Utah, is being awarded a $70,805,737 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for hardware and services in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division's Surface/Aviation Interoperability Laboratory. Services to be provided include upgrades, maintenance, repair, spares, systems engineering support (integration and installation) and testing of various tactical common data link systems. The estimated level of effort for this contract is 36,700 man-hours. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md., and is expected to be completed in May 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. Northrop Grumman Corp., Integrated Systems, El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $35,194,492 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of 33 Center Barrels and loose and miscellaneous parts for the F/A-18 A-D aircraft. Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif., and is expected to be completed in October 2013. Contract funds in the amount of $4,931,095 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-10-C-0052).

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Rolling Meadows, Ill., is being awarded a $79,239,035 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of AN/AAQ-24(V)25 NexGen Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures Infrared (IR) Missile Warning Subsystem (MWS) sensors and IR processors for the H-53 and H-46 helicopters. This contract provides for the procurement of 487 NexGen MWS sensors and 99 NexGen MWS processors, including associated technical data. Work will be performed in Rolling Meadows, Ill. (50.6 percent); Goleta, Calif. (20.9 percent); Lewisburg, Tenn. (9.2 percent); Ontario, Canada (5.2 percent); Saxonburg, Pa. (4.5 percent); Tipp City, Ohio (2.1 percent); Fort Walton Beach, Fla. (1.5 percent); Deer Park, N.Y. (1 percent); Westford, Mass. (1 percent); and various locations throughout the United States (4 percent). Work is expected to be completed in June 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.301-1. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-10-C-0036).
