Local Navy Contract Awards


WASHINGTON (May 26, 2010) - The U.S. Department of Defense recently announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded an $85,499,548 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-incentive/award-fee contract (N00019-07-C-0097) in support of the Joint Strike Fighter air system low-rate initial production (LRIP) Lot II. This modification provides for the procurement of the additional special tooling and special test equipment required under LRIP II to meet the anticipated production ramp. Work will be performed in Ft. Worth, Texas (35 percent); El Segundo, Calif. (24 percent); Lancashire, United Kingdom (17 percent); Turin, Italy (4.5 percent); and at various continental U.S. locations (19.2 percent) and locations outside the continental U.S. (0.3 percent). Work is expected to be completed in April 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $25,786,266 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $58,000,000 modification to the previously awarded cost-plus-incentive-fee contract (N00019-08-C-0028) for technical services required to meet production ramp rates in support of the Joint Strike Fighter air system low-rate initial production Lot III aircraft. Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif. (55 percent); Lancashire, United Kingdom (18 percent); Fort Worth, Texas (12.6 percent); and various continental U.S. locations (13.5 percent) and locations outside the continental U.S. (0.9 percent). Work is expected to be completed in January 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, Burlington, Vt., is being awarded a $9,831,278 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the procurement of 30 M61A2 20mm lightweight gatling gun systems for the F/A-18E/F aircraft. Work will be performed in Burlington, Vt. (50 percent), and Saco, Maine (50 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-10-C-0024).

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Bethpage, N.Y., is being awarded a $71,028,648 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee/cost-plus-incentive-fee contract (N00019-03-C-0057) to provide operational evaluation readiness preparation services in support of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye System Development and Demonstration (SD&D) program. Services to be provided include flight test support, integrated logistics support, supply support, and depot capabilities support for two SD&D aircraft and three pilot production aircraft. Work will be performed in Bethpage, N.Y. (81 percent); Syracuse, N.Y. (7 percent); Indianapolis, Ind. (3 percent); San Francisco, Calif. (1 percent); Greenlawn, N.Y. (1 percent); West Chester, Ohio (1 percent); Falls Church, Va. (1 percent); Ronkonkoma, N.Y. (1 percent); Owego, N.Y. (1 percent); Marlboro, Mass. (1 percent); Wyndmoor, Pa. (1 percent), and Rome, Italy (1 percent). Work is expected to be completed in September 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
