Navy Warns of Loud Noise Near St. Inigoes Aug. 30 through Sept. 22

NAS PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (August 30, 2010)—Communities surrounding the Outlying Landing Field (OLF) at Webster Field in St. Inigoes, in the southern portion of St. Mary's County, may experience increased noise levels from August 30 through September 22, warned officials from HQ Naval District Washington today.

Increased Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) flight operations are required at OLF Webster Field in order to conduct pre-deployment training for Army National Guard UAS operators. Weekend and night operations will be required.

The Navy says Naval Air Station Patuxent River will take precautions to lessen the impact of testing and training activities on the community.
