MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 7, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT OVER $1000: On Saturday, October 2 at 3:50pm, TFC M. B. Adams responded to the area of Pond View Lane and Maryland Route 5 in Mechanicsville for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 47, of Mechanicsville, who advised between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm on October 2nd, an unknown subject removed a yellow hydraulic pump and multiple pins from a grey Chevrolet Silverado without permission. The vehicle was placed at the aforementioned location to advertise that it was for sale. The hydraulic pump was affixed to the snow plow which had been recently added to attract buyers. The location of the vehicle made it completely visible to traffic and the crime occurred during daylight hours. DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, October 3 at 1:27am, TFC J. S. Gibson initiated a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Mechanicsville Road on a white GMC pick up truck for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver, a male juvenile, 17, of Mechanicsville, TFC Gibson detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was released to a guardian pending further action by juvenile services.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, October 3 at 3:18am, Tpr. E. R. Mersman attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue Hyundai in the area of Maryland Route 235, north of Exploration Park Drive, for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, Joseph Michael Savage, 20, of Callaway. A search of the vehicle revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Arrested for Possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia was Mr. Savage, Christi Lynn Summerday, 20, of Callaway, and Robert Tyler Pegg, 20, of Leonardtown. All subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, October 4 at 7:45am, TFC K. D. Lashley responded to the St. Mary's County Detention Center to serve a warrant (T3-14469) on Henry Hinson, 24, of Lexington Park who was already incarcerated. The warrant was issued on June 8 by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County for a Violation of Probation Conditions. Mr. Hinson was served the warrant and remained in the custody of the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, October 4 at 10:00pm, TFC E. M. Evans and Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann served two outstanding bench warrants (T3-14607 / T3-14609) on Adella M. Ackerman, 43, of Great Mills. Both warrants were issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on October 1. One for Failing to Appear for Violation of Probation Hearing / Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (T3-14607) and the other for Violation of Exparte / Protective Order (T3-14609). Ms. Ackerman was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, October 5 at 1:25am, Cpl. J. L. Linger observed a black Ford Explorer on the shoulder of the highway in the area of Maryland Route 234 and Chaptico Hill Lane. Upon making contact with the driver, James Michael Akowskey, 3rd, 18, of Mechanicsville, the odor of burnt marijuana was detected. A probable cause search of the vehicle and Mr. Akowskey revealed Marijuana and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Akowskey was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, October 5 at 2:33pm, Tpr. S. Casarella served a bench warrant (T3-14605) on Christopher McKinley Roach, 32, of Great Mills, for CDS Possession of Paraphernalia and CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. The warrant was issued on September 29 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Roach was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

Lionel Peter Boyd, 27, of Fort Washington arrested on 10/1/10 by TFC N. E. Gresko

Deborah Elaine Gravely, 52, of Mechanicsville arrested on 10/2/10 by TFC M. R. Grimes

Steven Skate Poole, 41, of Avenue arrested on 10/2/10 by TFC E. J. Page

Mamie Teresa Mullins, 56, of Virginia arrested on 10/3/10 by TFC M. R. Grimes

Kenneth Wayne Sams, 26, of Mechanicsville arrested on 10/3/10 by Cpl. J. L. Linger
