MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 4, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF FIREARM: On Monday, November 1 at 2:15am, Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann initiated a traffic stop on a white Saturn in the area of Maryland Route 247 and Maryland Route 235 for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Tpr. Wiesemann detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle and its passengers revealed a handgun under the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Charged with possession of a concealed deadly weapon was Demetrius Deandre Young, 20, of Hollywood. Mr. Young was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, November 1 at 2:30pm, TFC J. S. Gibson served a bench warrant (T3-14533) on Earl Thomas Anderson, 22, of Park Hall. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving An Uninsured Vehicle by the District Court of St. Mary's County on August 3. Mr. Anderson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, November 2 at 12:50pm, TFC N. E. Gresko initiated a traffic stop on a red Ford Probe at Maryland Route 235 and First Colony Boulevard for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Alexandra Spencer Barnes, 53, of Lexington Park, TFC Gresko detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Mr. Barnes breath. Standardized Field Sobriety was performed on the scene and Mr. Barnes was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Barnes to be in possession of Marijuana. The CDS was located in the center console and under the passenger seat of the vehicle. Mr. Barnes transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center, charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, November 3 at 1:20am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton served a Circuit Court warrant (T3-14630) on Sherman Devon Bush, 37, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County on October 12 with an original charge of a Grand Jury Indictment for CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. Mr. Bush was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Wednesday, November 3 at 7:51am, TFC E. J. Page responded to Maryland Route 249, north of Maryland Route 244, in Valley Lee for a reported Malicious Destruction of Property. While driving southbound on Maryland Route 249, TFC Page began to observe evidence of the destruction of property. The damage was done in the form of derogatory words being spray painted on both the roadway and near by poles. TFC Page documented the damage and contacted the State Highway Administration for the removal of the spray paint. Any information pertaining to this case can be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.
