GERMANTOWN, Md. (December 15, 2010) — A
story about a Nebraska abortion doctor operating in Germantown cited Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation. In the story she explained when the doctor would perform second trimester abortions. It was unclear, however, as to the circumstances under which those procedures would be performed. It should have said: Dr. LeRoy Carhart will be providing abortion care during the second trimester, but will only perform abortions post-viability if there are indications that the woman or the fetus faces a life-threatening condition, Saporta said.
