Local Navy Contract Awards


WASHINGTON (June 23, 2011)—The U.S. Department of Defense this week announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Defense Support Services, LLC, Mount Laurel, N.J., is being awarded a $39,915,868 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for organizational level maintenance with limited intermediate level maintenance on current and future assigned aircraft in support of the Naval Test Wing Pacific at Point Mugu and China Lake Naval Air Stations. Work will be performed in China Lake, Calif. (79 percent), and Point Mugu, Calif. (21 percent), and is expected to be completed in August 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via an electronic request for proposals, with four offers received. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-11-C-0031).

Rolls-Royce Corp., Indianapolis, Ind., is being awarded a $12,048,011 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-07-C-0060) for the procurement of 6 AE1107C engines for the Air Force CV-22 aircraft (four spares and two installs). Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind., and is expected to be completed in December 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC, Kaysville, Utah, is being awarded a $24,966,217 firm-fixed-price requirements contract for the design, implementation, evaluation, testing, kitting and sparing of lighter brakes, wheels, radial tires and Brake Temperature Monitoring System for the E-6B fleet. Work will be performed in Kaysville, Utah (65 percent); Oklahoma City, Okla. (25 percent); and Patuxent River, Md. (10 percent). Work is expected to be completed in September 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via an electronic request for proposals, with two offers received. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-11-D-0005).

Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Services, King of Prussia, Pa., is being awarded a $13,063,291 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (N00019-10-C-0064) to exercise an option for software development activity including system engineering, software, hardware deployment and support, and management efforts required to field the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy ($11,975,644; 98.5 percent), and the government of the United Kingdom ($193,285; 1.5 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in King of Prussia, Pa., and is expected to be completed in June 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $139,490 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity.
