Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 11, 2011)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of July 4 through July 10, deputies responded to 1,787 calls for service throughout the community.

DRUG ARREST: On July 6 at 11:58 p.m., Cpl. R. Wilson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby. He found a passenger in the vehicle to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. He charged Christopher David Gentry, 24, of Lusby, with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a straw containing suspected drug residue.

DRUG ARREST: DFC J. Norton conducted a traffic stop at Lake Drive at Huron Drive in Lusby on July 7 at 12:26 a.m. He found the driver, identified as Barry Michael Grubbs, Jr., 22, of Lusby, to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. Grubbs was charged with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a glass smoking device.

DRUG ARREST: On July 8 at 10:30 p.m., DFC T. Rickard conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Md. Rt. 260 and F Street in Chesapeake Beach. He found the passenger, identified as John Lesley Windsor, 45, of Owings, was wanted on a Calvert County warrant for failure to appear. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a metal pipe.

THEFT AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown person(s) removed a 12 pound "Crab Claw" boat anchor from a boat parked in the driveway of a home on Hill Side Road in St. Leonard sometime overnight between July 9 and 10. The anchor was later found in a neighbor's yard. It appears to have been used to break a mailbox and post valued at $500. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. N. Funchion at 410-535-2800.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Someone caused $500 in damage to a vehicle parked outside a home on Miles Way in Port Republic between July 9 and 10. Dep. Funchion is investigating.

DUI ARRESTS FOR JULY 1-4: The Calvert County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police Barrack "U" conducted DUI enforcement efforts from Friday, July 1st through Monday, July 4th. Enforcement results included 23 DUI arrests by the Sheriff's Office and 3 DUI arrests by Maryland State Police troopers. No persons under the age of 21 were arrested for DUI.
