MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (September 18, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, September 10, at 7:33 p.m., TFC J. A. Pilkerton initiated a traffic stop on a gray Chevrolet passenger vehicle in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Golden Beach Road for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, Sara Mae Hornig, 23, of Mechanicsville, TFC Pilkerton detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Upon the arrival of an additional unit for assistance, TFC Pilkerton had Ms. Hornig exit the vehicle where he informed her of his observation. Information provided by Ms. Hornig as well as her retrieval of CDS that was located on her person resulted in her arrest. Additional statements made by Ms. Hornig resulted in a probable cause search of the vehicle as well. The results revealed CDS Paraphernalia in the center console and additional CDS in a handbag located in the vehicle. Ms. Hornig was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, September 14, at 8:37 p.m., TFC J. S. Gibson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15128) on Corey Michael Arias, 18, of California. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on September 14, 2011 with an original charge of Driving Without A License. Mr. Arias was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
