MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (April 12, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) has released the following incident and arrest reports.

FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On 4/5/2012 at 9:30 am, Trooper First Class Johns responded to the 100 block of Cove Point Rd. in Lusby for a report of an assault in progress. Jarel A. Stepney, 22 of Lusby, assaulted the victim using a brick paver to the head. Stepney was transported to the barrack for processing. The Calvert Investigative Team is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA: On 4/6/2012 at 8:01 am, Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle at Rt. 4 near Lyons Creek Rd. in Dunkirk for traffic violations. The odor of marijuana was detected while speaking with the driver. Michael K. Fitzwater, 24 of North Beach, was arrested for possession of CDS: not marijuana. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On 4/6/2012 at 5:13 pm, Trooper Matthews responded to the 700 block of Plum Point Rd. in Huntingtown to do a welfare check. During the investigation, it was revealed that there was an active protective order against Monroe M. Gantt, Jr., 45 of Huntingtown. Mr. Gantt was located within the residence. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT, FORGERY: On 4/7/2012 at 10:21 am, Trooper First Class Evans responded to the 300 block of Serenity Ct. in Prince Frederick for a reported disturbance. During the investigation, it was discovered that the caretaker for the victim had been removing money from the victim's checking account without his knowledge. Debora Dickerman, 57 of Prince Frederick, was arrested for theft and forgery. She was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 4/8/2012 at 6:33 am, Trooper First Class West responded to the 7-11 in Prince Frederick for a destruction of property. Enroute to the location, I witnessed Quenton T. Gantt, 52 of Prince Frederick, running across Duke St. onto Merrimac Ct. Upon contacting Gantt, he became argumentative and irrational, becoming animated and aggressive. I transported him back to the 7-11 for positive identification. He was identified as the suspect who had destroyed property and caused a disturbance within the business. He was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.
