Local Navy Contract Awards


WASHINGTON (April 13, 2012)—The U.S. Department of Defense recently announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded a $25,674,383 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-incentive-fee contract (N00019-06-C-0081) to provide detailed maintenance plans in support of the CH-53K helicopter program. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed in December 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $258,800,000 not-to-exceed undefinitized modification to the previously awarded F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter low rate initial production Lot 5 contract (N00019-10-C-0002), including one additional conventional take-off and landing aircraft for the Air Force, and one additional carrier variant aircraft for the Navy. The modification includes undefinitized line items, which will be definitized as fixed-price-incentive-firm. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (35 percent); El Segundo, Calif. (25 percent); Warton, United Kingdom (20 percent); Orlando, Fla. (10 percent); Nashua, N.H. (5 percent); and Baltimore, Md. (5 percent). Work is expected to be completed in February 2014. No funding will be obligated at time of award. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
