Another Pedestrian Killed in Chas. Co.


CALIFORNIA, Md.—Another pedestrian has been killed in Charles County. Maryland State Police report that Lana Elaine Mostardi, 30, of Waldorf, was struck by a large SUV late Monday night. The driver of the 2000 Ford Expedition was Melvin Lawrence Davis, Jr., 52, of Nanjemoy.

Police determined that on June 18 at approximately 11:43 p.m., the Ford Expedition was traveling southbound on Route 224 south of Willoby Road. Ms. Mostardi, who parked on the northbound shoulder of the road, exited her vehicle and attempted to cross the road when she was subsequently struck by the SUV. Ms. Mostardi was pronounced deceased on the scene. She suffered injuries to her head, arms, legs, and internally. Her body was transported to the Medical Examiners Office in Baltimore.
