MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 3, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) has released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/26/2012 at 12:15 am, TFC K. Donaldson was dispatched to the area of Harmony Lane, for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon his arrival, a blue passenger car that was occupied multiple times. TFC Donaldson made contact with all occupants in the vehicle and observed an overwhelming amount of smoke pouring out of the interior of the vehicle. At this time, the strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected from within the vehicle. The occupants were then searched and all were arrested for possession of CDS-Marijuana. Subjects arrested were: [**redacted]; Andrew Michael Stone, age 19, Chesapeake Beach; Jonathon Edward Gunnulfsen, age 18, Chesapeake Beach; and one male juvenile from Owings. All subjects, excluding the juvenile, were taken to the Calvert County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. The juvenile was taken to the MSP Prince Frederick Barrack where he was released to his mother.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/26/2012 at 11:59 pm, TFC C. Esnes was on patrol in the area of Prince Frederick Boulevard and Chapline Place. TFC Esnes stopped a vehicle for suspended registration southbound on Prince Frederick Boulevard. Contact was made with the driver Keisha Lanae Berry, age 29, Lusby, MD. While speaking with the driver, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. TFC Esnes then had Ms. Berry exit the vehicle, and upon searching her vehicle a suspected marijuana cigarette was located, as well as a baggie containing suspected synthetic Marijuana. Berry was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center pending her appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

HINDERING POLICE, RESISTING ARREST: On 6/26/2012 at 4:53 pm, TFC K. Logsdon was dispatched to Moffat Run in Chesapeake Beach, to assist with a search warrant. During the execution of the search warrant, Freda Marie Tipton, age 44, Chesapeake Beach, became disorderly and began to interfere with the investigation. TFC Logsdon Ms. Tipton and she became combative and resisted arrest. Tipton was arrested and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center pending her appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

BURGLARY: On 6/26/2012 at 5:28 pm, TFC S. Casarella was dispatched to the 3000 block of Holland Cliffs Road in reference to a burglary. Upon TFC Casarella's arrival, it was determined that suspects had entered a residential garage and stole a 2001 Yamaha 85CC dirt bike. Anyone with information pertaining to this theft is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at 410-535-1400. The investigation is being continued by TFC Casarella.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA/PERCOCET: On 6/27/2012 at 9:26 am, TFC C. Esnes was on routine patrol in the area of MD Route 231 at the Benedict Bridge. TFC Esnes observed the male operator of a black Ford Crown Victoria not being restrained by his seatbelt along with a female passenger. TFC Esnes initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of MD Route 231 and Spring Hill Court, Prince Frederick. The vehicle occupants had switched positions and the vehicle was now being operated by the female, Carrie Ann Demarr age 22 of St. Leonard. The original driver was identified as Lorenzo Edward Miller, age 27 of Washington, DC. Upon speaking with Ms. Demarr, she immediately advised TFC Esnes that her passenger had made her get behind the wheel, and actually he (Miller) was the violator. Ms. Demarr advised TFC Esnes that she had Percocet pills in her purse. Ms.Demarr turned these over to TFC Esnes. A search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of illegal "bath salts". Both subjects were placed under arrest and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY: On 6/28/2012 at 4:09 am, TFC M. Parker was dispatched to the 800 block of Black Cherry Way in St. Leonard for the report of a burglary. Upon TFC Parker's arrival, it was determined that the owner of the residence had confronted the unknown suspect while he was in the victim's garage. The complainant/victim was then assaulted by the suspect who fled in an unknown direction. The investigation is continuing by TFC Parker and members from the Criminal Investigation Team. Suspects have been developed and arrests are pending.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/29/2012 at 3:01 pm, TFC C. Esnes was on patrol in the ara of MD Route 231 just prior to the Benedict Bridge. TFC Esnes observed a maroon Chevrolet Caprice with what appeared to be illegal window tint on the vehicle. TFC Esnes initiated a traffic stop and immediately detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search revealed a silver metal grinder containing trace amounts of suspected marijuana. Both subjects were then placed under arrest; Terrence Lamont Jefferson, age 30 of Lusby, MD and Paul David parker, Jr., age 30 of Port Republic, MD. Both subjects were charged with Possession of Marijuana and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center for routine processing.

POSSESSION OF CDS - SYNTHETIC CANNABINOID: On 6/29/2012 at 7:08 pm, TFC E. West on routine patrol in the area of Huntingtown Elementary School working stationary radar. A gray Toyota Scion was observed by TFC West to have illegal tint on the windows. The vehcle was then stopped in the area of White March Court and Huntingtown Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, TFC West detected the odor of burnt marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed synthetic Marijuana. Alexander Stephen Thorne, age 21 of Huntingtown, was arrested and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 6/30/2012 at 12:14 am, TFC J. Wiersma was in the area of the Fox Run Shopping Center performing a patrol check. At Fox Run Liquors, it was observed that a jar of salsa was thrown at the front door of the store damaging the glass. Investigation is continuing. POSSESSION OF PILLS: On 6/30/2012 at 3:42 pm, Senior Trooper M. Gill was dispatched to the Super 8 Motel in Prince Frederick for possible drug activity in one of the hotel rooms. Upon his arrival, Senior Trooper Gill made contact with the occupants in the hotel room where the activity was occurring and located one female suspect to be in possession of illegal prescriptions. The suspect, Tina Denise Shaner, age 45 of Huntingtown, MD was arrested and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/30/2012 at 5:35 pm, TFC E. West was on routine patrol in the area of Fox Run Blvd, Prince Frederick. TFC West stopped a silver Chevrolet Silverado for a windshield violation. As TFC West approached the vehicle, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When questioned, the driver turned over a bag of marijuana. Lloyd Irving Jones, Jr., age 52 of Lexington Park, MD, was arrested and charged with possession of Marijuana. He was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 7/1/2012 at 5:11 am, TFC K. Donaldson was dispatched to a residence on Clyde Jones Road for a reported distressed subject. Upon TFC Donaldson's arrival, he observed several intoxicated adults in the driveway of the residence who stated that one female subject was bothering them. TFC Donaldson then made contact with the female subject later who could not provide TFC Donaldson with any type of identification. TFC Donaldson was then directed to the subject's car, where he observed drugs and drug paraphernalia. The subject identified as Cassandra Irene Bond, age 32 of Dundalk, MD. Bond was arrested and while being transported to the detention center, Bond kicked the windshield of TFC Donaldson's vehicle causing damage. Bond was then charged with destruction of property. Bond was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
